STI-B Series Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectometry / Analyzer
Brillouin optical time domain reflectometry/Analyzer (B-OTDR or B-OTDA) is a distributed optical fiber sensing system based on Brillouin scattering technology which can measure temperature and strain along a fiber optic cable. With light as the carrier of signal acquisition and optical fiber as the sensing and communication medium, it has outstanding advantages such as good durability, no zero drift, no live work, anti-electromagnetic interference and large transmission bandwidth. Widely used in submarine cable monitoring and early warning, pipeline leakage, geological settlement, communication and power lines, building structure health and other quasi-static monitoring. The development of long-distance, high-precision Brillouin distributed fiber optic sensor monitoring and early warning equipment, based on the principle of Brillouin temperature stress demodulation, combined with temperature measurement data, carries out temperature stress decoupling, monitors the stress of the uninterrupted operation of the submarine cable, and alarms and locates the stress, which can realize the stress alarm function. It lays the foundation for the monitoring and early warning of mechanical faults such as excavation machinery or ship anchor, and can be widely used in the stress and temperature monitoring of industrial places such as communications and power cables, offshore wind power, drilling platforms, nuclear power safety, and building structural health.
